Daddy's Little Valentine

Last night, Scott and Lily had a special date! They attended the Father Daughter Dance at Lifetime Fitness. It was so adorable! We got Lily all dressed up in her red dress and Scott got dressed up too. We took pictures and then they were off. When they got there, Lily was given a goody bag with little Valentine stickers and toys. They danced to a couple of songs and then had some punch and muffins cookies. There was a professional photographer there taking pictures, so they got their picture taken and then danced some more. Lily was ready to go home at this point, so they headed out. On the way out, they met Snow White. She was on her way to the dance. She talked to Lily for a while, and of course, Lily was very excited. I think they both had a wonderful time.

Family Update

It's been a while since I last updated, so I thought I'd write a litte about how everyone is doing.

Madeline is blossoming into a delightful little girl. She's just bursting with personality. She's walking 100% of the time and running too. It's adorable when Scott gets home from work... She runs to the garage door saying "hi, hi, hi", in her sweet soft voice. She's definitly daddy's little girl. She wants to try everything that Lily does, and does not like to be left behind. I really have my hands full with her right now. She is costantly on the move and is very unhappy about anything that is confining. It makes any kind of shopping trip a real challenge! Madeline has a few words, she says Hi, Bye, Mama, Dada, Dog and Go. She also has a couple of signs, "more" and "all done". It's so fun to see how excited she gets when she communicates.

Lily is getting so big! We're just a month away from her 3rd birthday. She's been going to school since the begining of January and she continues to LOVE it. Her teacher is wonderful. She says that Lily enjoys pretty much everything they do at school and participates in all activities. Mostly, she loves to paint. Her communication skills are improving. I can understand about 95% of what Lily is saying. Her expressions are getting more complex. She is giving Scott and me more complicated directions. Sometimes, when she is telling us what we need to do, the instructions will have 5 or 6 parts! Good thing she's around to let us know what to do! She's very loving. She and Madeline play together sweetly most of the time. Lily loves to ride her bike and pretend to be a doctor and fix me and Madeline and all of her stuffed animals.

I'm doing great. My pregnancy is going well. I have gestational diabetes again, but it's mild so far and as long as I follow my diet, I don't have any out of control data points. It's hard not to snack on the girl's snacks, but I do my best! I'm now more than 1/2 way through the pregnancy. My belly seems to be growing every day.

Scott is doing great! Work is going very well for him. He's been assigned a project that involves brand new, cutting edge technology, and he's excited to be working on it! Next weekend is the AT&T Austin Marathon. Scott has been training for it since the fall and he's excited for the race. He's running faster than he ever has and is hoping to have a great race!

We're getting a minivan this week! I'm so excited. We've really loved our Subaru, but we can't fit 3 car seats in it. So, it's time for a bigger car. We're getting a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I am just bursting with excitement.

Some pictures below... Me at 21 weeks and Madeline playing.
