San Antonio Zoo

On Friday, we went to the San Antonio Zoo!  We had a blast!  It's an amazing zoo, with a very special area designed just for kids under 5.  We got to see all of the animals and we had a special up close view of the Hippos!  It was so cool.  The kids were great :)  The weather was warm and overcast, so it was pleasant.  Overall, an awesome family outing!

Christmas Morning

It was crazy town in our house on Christmas morning.  The girls wore their special night gowns that Grandma Cindi made for them last year.  They both got new bikes and a puppet theater to share.  Wyatt is sitting up and crawling.  He attacked the pile of paper and had a wonderful time!  Christmas morning is a special family time.  It was exciting for us this year because Lily was really anticipating Santa's visit for the first time.  Here are a few pictures.

Madeline's Birthday Brunch

On Christmas Eve morning (Madeline's birthday!), we had a little birthday brunch for her.  Grandma Marcia, Papa Dennis and Grandma EE came over to help us celebrate.  It was a fun little celebration.  I think we made her feel special in the midst of all the Christmas going on.

Pajama Pictures

On Wednesday this week, we stayed home all day.  The girls didn't even get out of their pajamas and we baked cookies.  I got some adorable pictures.  We had so much fun!

Madeline's Birthday Party

Sunday was Madeline's birthday party at Gymboree.  We did a joint party with Mitchell.  The theme was an M&M party, since Madeline and Mitchell both start with M!  The kids had a ball and I got some cute pictures.  Enjoy!

Cheryl's mom made this adorable cake!  (Cheryl is Mitchell's mom)

LBJ Wildflower Center Light Festival

Last night we went to the Light Festival at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.  It was so beautiful!  They had the Austin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Austin Children's Choir there performing.  There was also a harp performance in one of the back buildings.  There were over 3000 luminaries and tons of twinkle lights to look at.  They had arts and crafts for the kids.  Lily made a snowflake and a wreath.  Frosty the Snowman was there.  Lily and Madeline were very excited about the idea of Frosty, but then were a little scared when we actually saw him.

Madeline slept through most of the visit.  She didn't really nap yesterday and so she fell asleep on the way there.  She was so tired that when Scott picked her up she continued to sleep on him and was even snoring for a while!  It was so sweet!

I tried to capture some of what it looked like.  I just love luminaries.
