Dino Exhibit at the Austin Botanical Garden

This was a fun outing!  Unfortunately, Lily, Paige and Emma all ended up with skinned knees!  Madeline was the only one dressed to prevent it.  I expected her fall!

Wyatt cooperated and slept the whole time.
Chase is the happiest baby ever!!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Austin Zoo

Tuesday afternoon, we took all the little ones (except for Chase) to the Austin Zoo.  We had a ball!  I think the huge turtles were the favorite.  Or, maybe it was feeding the bambies.  Here are some pictures...  Enjoy!

Notice how Madeline sticks her entire hand inside the deer's mouth!  Good thing they are so gentle!

Cousins!

We had a house full this week!

Hurricane Ike hit the Texas coast on Friday night and Saturday last weekend.  Keri lives in The Woodlands, which is north of Houston.  Luckily, it's about 150 miles north of Galveston, so she did not get Ike in it's full force.  However, it was strong enough to take down one of her HUGE trees that landed across the front of her house and onto her car!  Her power was lost.

After 2 nights without power, the Tetlow's headed to Austin.  The plan was to pick up a generator and head back, but supplies were low.  On Monday morning, Costco had a shipment of generators available.  Alex waited in line starting at 6 in the morning, but he got one!  Keri, Alex, CJ and baby Chase headed back home Monday with the generator to get more clothes and to pick up Grandma Kathy who was flying in to Houston that day.

Kathy, Keri and Chase were back in Austin around 11 PM Monday, and soon after arrival, Kathy had an accident.  She fell down the stairs and broke her ankle.  Scott took Kathy to the ER.  They got her fixed up but said it was really bad and she needed to meet with an orthopedic surgeon right away.  She got an appointment Tuesday morning and had surgery on Wednesday morning.  The surgeon said that it went really well and that she will be as good as new in 8 weeks.

Keri's power came back on at her house Tuesday night.  Wednesday was Emma's 5th birthday.  After Kathy's surgery and a small celebration for Emma, Keri loaded everyone up and drove home.

The kids had a ball playing together!  I took them all to music class on Monday, the Zoo on Tuesday and to a Dino Exhibit on Wednesday.  Here are some pics:  I'll post the Zoo and Dino exhibit in a separate post...

Go Steelers!

Sunday was the first Steelers game of the season!  We're a Steelers family!  We all got dressed up in our Steelers gear and watched the game.  The Steelers won!  We had a great time.

Wyatt spent most of the game sleeping on dad just like this...  He's a good little football buddy!

Kid Pics and Patio Furniture

Here are some pictures I've taken around the house the last week or so...  Enjoy!

Madeline is always asking to hold Wyatt!

We got some new patio furniture from Craigslist this week.  It's great to have something soft and comfortable to sit on outside.  The mornings and evenings are getting really nice here.  We all enjoy being outside.

Labor Day Weekend

We had an awesome Labor Day weekend!  It was jam packed with parties and celebrations.  First on Friday, we attended Peter and Yamini's wedding.  After the ceremony, we went to dinner at the Shoreline Grill.  It was so delicious and a wonderful evening.  My girlfriend Cheryl watched Madeline and Lily for us, and we brought Wyatt with us.  Thanks Cheryl!

On Saturday, I celebrated my 30th birthday!  I had a pedicure and haircut at Lifetime Fitness Salon.  Yamini and Kim (college friends) met me there and kept me company while I was pampered.  It was fun to get to visit without my kids.  Saturday night, Scott and I went to dinner at Fonda San Miguel.  It was awesome!

Sunday, we went to a Mojito party at Pryia's house.  So fun!  Bacardi is doing a promotion this summer for their Mojito mixes.  If you're having a party before the end of September and you'd like to make it a Mojito party, just check out the website bacardimojito.com.  If they are available, Bacardi will send 2 bar tenders and all the alcohol for free.  You just have to guarantee them at least 25 people.  We had a ball!

On Monday, we had a BBQ at our house.  It was so fun!  Thanks to everyone that came and made it a fun party!

Here are some pics...

My little monkey Madeline can make a big mess faster than any child I know.  I took these pictures after I found her in Wyatt's pack and play covered in paint!  She managed to climb in all by herself, and then she reached the paint tupperware, got it open and opened several containers of paint.  All of this in maybe two minutes...

Congratulations Peter and Yamini!  We're so excited they are here and we wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Happy Birthday to me!
