Dora the Explorer Adventure Party

For Lily's birthday party, she wanted to have a Dora the Explorer Adventure Party. I was thrilled. I thought, a Fiesta! So, when the party guests arrived, I had fiesta music playing, sombrero's, maracas and tons of balloons. We started the party off with dancing. Then, when the food was all ready, we ate. I was very impressed with how well all of the kids ate. I expected it to be noisy and messy, but all of the little ones sat in their chairs and ate their dinner very politely. After dinner we went on a Dora Adventure. I gave each child a map and a fanny pack. Inside each fanny pack was a magnified glass, binoculars, a flashlight and a friendship bracelet. Just what you need on an adventure! The first task was to cross Rainbow Bridge. On our deck, I had little foam squares with letters and numbers, the kids had to find numbers 1 through 5 to get across the bridge. They worked together and got the job done! The next task was to get through the star tunnels. There were tunnels with little paper stars leading the way, and all of the kids had to crawl through to the other side. Finally, they had to find the pinata tree. Once there, we pulled the pinata strings. It was a ball! I was happy with how well everyone participated. After our little adventure, we went back into the house and we made paper flowers, and sang "Happy Birthday" and then ate cake and ice cream. It was a wonderful party and I think everyone had a great time.
