CNY - The Year of the Dragon!

I've got a month's worth of blogging to catch up on!  Time seems to be going faster lately.  I guess that is good...  I must be getting more caught up in the daily routine of life.  The little things don't seem as extraordinary anymore.  Sometimes it's nice to capture the little things.  I think they are the things that you miss the most as life changes.   Anyway...

This month we celebrated Chinese New Year!  It was a 2 week celebration.  The decorations started going up in the beginning of January.  Red dragons everywhere!  This is the year of the dragon!  I've captured a few pictures from the last month....

In January, Scott and I took the kids down to an area of town called Marina Bay.  In the Art and Science Museum, there is an exhibition showing all about the Titanic.  We'd heard it was good and we wanted to check it out.  We loved it!  It was awesome and well worth our time.  The kids really liked it too.  They got to touch an ice burg!

On our way there, we saw these decorations for CNY.

A puppet show in the Marina Bay Sands mall.

This is just a shot through the Marina Bay shopping center.  The red lanterns hanging from the ceiling were very pretty.

There is a stadium set up on the water in the Marina Bay.  You can kinda see that they had it set for Chinese New Year.  We stayed away from all of the big celebrations, only to avoid the crowds.  We could already tell there were extra people in Singapore over the CNY two weeks.  We didn't want to go to any of the places or events that draw the people here.

This isn't a CNY decoration picture.  Just a good one of the double helix bridge with the Singapore Flyer in the back.

These two were walking around the Marina Bay Sands shopping center on stilts.  We tried to catch up with them, but we were always on a different level and couldn't get to them in time.

We headed out to Sentosa to check out the flowers for CNY.  My cuties were excited.

A big dragon out in front of Universal Studios.

This one isn't CNY either...  It's a candy store on Sentosa called Candylicious.  They have lollipop trees out in front and I thought they were adorable.

The way this one is sitting reminds me of Puff the Magic Dragon.

This one is made out of sand!

The flowers were so beautiful!

Red rose hearts hanging from the trees!

There were some guys with snakes letting the tourists hold them for a fee.  We had to try it!  I don't know why we had to wear the silly hat!
