We had an amazing time at the Lillydale Farm in Queensland, Australia! We stayed for 2 nights in their Eco Cabin.
It was about a 2 hour drive from the Gold Coast airport. The drive was scenic and lovely. We stopped along the way to pick up some groceries.
The farm had a couple play grounds and tons of space for the kids to run and play. Our Eco Cabin had a little swing set next to it and a fence around the area to keep the animals out. We were covered in dirt at the end of each day, but we loved it! We spent all of our time outside, soaking up the fresh air.
Each day, the kids helped the farmer feed his animals in the morning and at night. Feeding times were at 8:30 am and 4:00 pm.
Lily was especially into feeding the animals. She was the first in line and stayed the longest.
Madeline was the chicken girl. She LOVED the chickens. She would chase them and catch them all day long if she was allowed. She caught the chickens and gave them to the other kids to hold.
Finding the eggs was a special treat too. They were warm from the nest.
Horses! We all went horseback riding together!
We actually just walked around the perimeter of the horse field, but it was a long way. I think we were on the horses for about 45 minutes. We all found it pretty exciting!
Bush maze. It was actually quite a challenge! We found some super large spiders in there too.
Tractor ride!
We hiked up to a little cave. We had to watch out for cow pies!
It's really great to get out and spend this much time out doors. The kids were so happy and we all felt relaxed by the end of our stay.
Next up... The Sunshine Coast and Fraser Island!
