Blem... Sick Kids....

Not much fun in the Caudle house lately.  The kids have been sick.  Blem.  It's terrible when the kids are sick.  It's even worse when more than 1 is sick.  It's also terrible when 1 is sick and 1 isn't sick, because we are all stuck together in the house all day.  sigh.  After 4 days stuck inside, I'm getting a little nutty.

Lily started to get congested on Saturday and then a fever on Sunday.  She stayed home from school Monday and returned today, but then the nurse called me at lunch time.  Lily did not have a fever, but she seemed warn down and just wanted to come home to sleep.  Poor thing.

Madeline had a little bit of a fever on Sunday and then nothing yesterday.  Today however, a high fever for most of the day, but it broke this afternoon and she seems better.  Yikes!  So far, Scott, Wyatt and I have avoided this, but I'm not sure how long it will last.  Scott's co-worker mentioned that there is some kind of fever virus going around...

Thank goodness it's not a stomach bug...  With the kids all sleeping in the little beds close to each other, that could get pretty ugly...

I don't have a doctor yet here, but today, the school nurse gave me a recommendation.  I need to pull up our insurance website and figure out what to do in the case of sick kids (or adults for that matter).

In other news...  Wyatt has pooped in the potty!  I'm very proud of him!  He has gone 2 days now of only using the potty for all elimination needs.  Whoo hoo!  We are close to being diaper free!  Gosh, it makes me think back to the days when Wyatt was born and I had 3 in diapers.  I never thought this time would come!!  My brilliant pediatrician in Austin (Dr. Jolet) told me that 3 years 3 months is a very common age for children to potty train.   Guess how old Wyatt will be tomorrow?  Yes, 3 years 3 months to the day!  Wow.  My child is predictable!!  Who knew?

Also...  We just booked a trip to Bali!  I'm sooo excited.  Lily has a two week break from school coming up (year round, 4 term system) and we decided to plan our first trip!  More details to come...

Austin, I am shocked and saddened by the pictures I've been seeing of the wildfires.  I hope it ends soon.  I feel so helpless.  Sending love from the other side of the world!
