Point that in the potty!

We got caught in the rain today!!  Here is a picture of Madeline and Wyatt as we returned home... soaking wet!

This morning when we dropped Lily off at school, I realized that today was her track and field day and we were dressed in the wrong uniform.  Oops.  So, she went up to class and Wyatt and Madeline and I returned home to get her correct clothes and then we brought them to her.  This is a moment when I am so happy that we live only 3 minutes walk from the school.  Lucky for us, Lily's class didn't start their track and field day until 9:40 am, so there was time for her to get changed.

After we got Lily changed, Wyatt, Madeline and I took a break by the school canteen.  There were a lot of the families that we know there, waiting to watch the track and field day.  The kids each got a banana from the canteen and I visited with the moms.  Half of the prep classes were already doing their sports.  That's when the downpour started!!  It came suddenly and very intense.  We waited under the cover for a little while, but it didn't look like it was going to let up any time soon.  The track and field day was cancelled.  Wyatt and Madeline couldn't keep from running out into the rain.  They were so excited!  I figured that they may as well have fun.  We walked home in the rain.  I did have an umbrella with me, I used it.  Wyatt and Madeline were dripping and skipping and having a ball.  Cute kids!

Uh, what's the deal with little boys and peeing on things?  Seriously.  I'm really happy that Wyatt has potty trained, but I'd like him to keep the pee in the potty!  Yesterday...  I was cleaning, doing laundry, dishes, etc. and I walked by our bathroom, the door was closed.  Odd.  Both kids were playing legos...  hmm.  I opened the door and there was pee everywhere!  A big puddle under the potty.  The shower door was wet on the outside!  What was going on here!!  I called Wyatt over and he immediately looked guilty and shy.  "Wyatt, what happened in here?  Did you have an accident?"...  "Um, well, I did that.  When I was going pee on the potty, I just pointed it that way and that happened.".  Ugh, buddy, let's keep it pointed in the potty!

Then later...  we went out to dinner.  It was a lovely evening!  The kids and I met Scott at our train station and we walked over to a little Thai restaurant that is close by.  We sat outside and had a delicious meal.  Just before we ate dinner, I took Wyatt and Madeline to the potty.  This restaurant is located near the pool of another condo complex (a large one).  So, the potty was actually the potty for the pool.  Anyway, I took Wyatt in and the potty was a little too tall for him, so once we got his pants off, I lifted him up from under his arms and he pointed and took care of business.  Only, he decided it would be fun to point things up and pee all over the back of the potty!  WYATT!!  Once he was finished (or so I thought...) I set him down and wiped up the potty, only to turn around and find him peeing on the wall of the stall!!  WTH?!  Seriously boys, what is with this?!

Scott and I were recently reflecting on how we've changed in the nearly 2 months that we've been here.  We arrived on July 27th, and it seems like it was ages ago.  We are now all very good at walking places.  We probably all walk at least 1 mile every day.  Luckily, not all at once.  The kids don't complain about it very much anymore.  We're good at remembering to walk on the left side of the sidewalk.  The girls are still collecting flowers everywhere we go.

Yesterday, I turned off the air-conditioner in our condo.  Here, they use the shortened term AirCon.  Most people only use it in the bedrooms at night for 4 hours and then have it turned off.  Different.  I opened up our windows and I found which ones need to be open for there to be a breeze that blows through.  It was so lovely!  By mid-afternoon though, it was getting too hot and muggy and I wanted my AirCon back on.  For a few hours though, I felt very Asian!

I have an announcement...  I have stopped biting my nails!!  I know it's not a big deal to you, but it's a big deal to me!  I've always chewed on my nails and I've always felt embarrassed by it.  Somehow, I felt inspired to stop and I just did.  It's been about 3 weeks now.  My nails have grown and are all past the tips of my fingers.  I feel so girly!  I need to go have a manicure to have my nails shaped.  I've been painting them every day.  When I start to play with them, I get out my nail strengthener paint and put on a fresh coat.  It's done the trick!  I'm so proud.

So, I changed my blog layout today...  Tomorrow is the first day of fall and I thought I'd celebrate by redecorating my blog.  I brought to Singapore, the beautiful table runners that my mother-in-law has made for me.  I think today, I will get out the fall one and put it out on our table.  I didn't bring a lot of seasonal decorations, but really, there isn't a lot of room for those things.  The table runners that I have are just perfect!
